Tarleton State beats Bowling Green 20-13 for 2nd win over FBS in 2 years
Hines broke off two long runs and Tarleton State made a late goal-line stop to hand Bowling Green its second straight loss to an FCS team.
On Saturday, running back Tylan Hines rushed for 250 yards as Tarleton State defeated Bowling Green State University 20-13 in an FCS upset at Doyt Perry Stadium.
Tarleton State dominated early, establishing a 17-0 lead behind quarterback Kaden Anderson's two touchdown passes to pressure the Bowling Green Falcons throughout the first half.
Hines fueled the attack with massive individual efforts, including non-scoring runs of 83 and 72 yards. Jay Kastentin passed for 283 yards for the Falcons while Jeremiah Scoby recorded 103 receiving yards.
With Bowling Green trailing 20-13, Tarleton's defense stopped Austyn Dendy on a fourth-and-1 play at the 8-yard line with two minutes remaining. The Falcons' final drive ended in failure.
Tarleton State secured a second consecutive victory over an FBS opponent, following a 2025 triumph against Army. Bowling Green now prepares for challenging road games against Nebraska and Iowa State.
