'Targeting Civilians, Infrastructure Unacceptable': PM Modi After Iran Strikes on UAE's Fujiarah Injured 3 Indians

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned Iranian missile and drone strikes on the United Arab Emirates' port city of Fujairah, which injured three Indian nationals. Modi termed the targeting of civilians and infrastructure "unacceptable."
The UAE Ministry reported that on Monday, air defence systems engaged 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones launched from Iran. The ministry affirmed it remains fully prepared to counter any threats.
A drone strike ignited a fire at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone, a key hub for energy exports. Emergency teams controlled the blaze while three injured Indians received hospital care for moderate injuries.
New Delhi reiterated its support for a peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy to restore stability in West Asia. The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi coordinated closely with local authorities to assist those affected.
Ensuring safe and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remains vital for regional peace and global energy security, officials emphasized. The incident follows a period of strain in the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.
