The Tallinn Isamaa and Centre Party coalition will fill the city's company and foundation boards with members of its own party, including Ester Tuiksoog, who was convicted of taking a bribe, Õhtuleht wrote on Sunday.
According to representatives of the opposition parties in the Tallinn City Council, Isamaa promised before the elections that it would reduce the proportion of politicians on the councils of the city's companies and foundations, but is now going against that promise. Mayor Peeter Raudsepp (Isamaa) noted that the proportions of political and independent members on the councils have remained the same.
The Tallinn city government has the right to decide who sits on the councils of the city's companies and foundations. The Isamaa and Centre Party coalition is now filling the councils with members of its own party, including Ester Tuikso, who was convicted of taking a bribe.
