Take-Two hit pause on the Switch 2 port of Borderlands 4
- On Tuesday, Take-Two Interactive said during its Q3 FY2026 earnings it made the difficult decision to pause development on the Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Borderlands 4.
- Last September, Gearbox delayed the Switch 2 port one week before its planned October 3 launch, citing additional development and polish time to better align with cross saves.
- Take-Two said it will focus on delivering quality post-launch content and collaborating with Nintendo, listing PGA Tour 2K25 and WWE 2K26 for Switch 2.
- The upcoming-games chart removed Borderlands 4 Switch 2 edition and highlights Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026 and WWE 2K26 for March 13.
- Absent from the Q3 presentation, Take-Two Interactive’s $1.76 billion in net bookings and Grand Theft Auto V’s 225 million sales suggest a Switch 2 version won’t arrive soon.
