Lebanon on Wednesday handed over to Syria Major General Adel Issa, a former commander in the service of the Bashar al-Assad regime. The major general faces charges of war crimes committed during the Syrian civil war. This is the first extradition of an indicted officer from Lebanon to Syria since the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024.
