Swiss President to visit Noida International Airport during India tour

- On Monday, Swiss President Guy Parmelin began a three-day state visit to India, meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss bilateral cooperation in trade, technology, and innovation.
- Marking his first state visit and second trip to India this year, Parmelin aims to build on regular high-level exchanges and expand cooperation in new areas of mutual interest.
- External Affairs minister Jaishankar will call on the Swiss President on Monday, while President Droupadi Murmu will host an official banquet in his honour on Wednesday evening.
- On Wednesday, Parmelin will address the second India-EFTA Prosperity Summit in New Delhi, marking the first anniversary of the TEPA coming into force.
- India signed the TEPA in March 2024 with four European Free Trade Association members—Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway—with Switzerland as the largest trade and investment partner.
