A swimmer has sadly passed away after being found unresponsive on the shoreline of a popular Galway beach. The man, aged in his 80s, was rushed to University Hospital Galway when Gardaí and emergency services were called to Blackrock Beach in Salthill shortly after 11am on Tuesday.
