- Her son Kim Aris called a state-released photo of her "meaningless" and told the BBC, "So, until I'm allowed communication with her, or somebody can independently verify her condition and her whereabouts, then I won't believe anything."
- Earlier on April 30, her sentence was reduced by one-sixth as part of a wider amnesty, though her legal team stated they received no direct notification of the transfer.
