The government remains committed to introducing the 450-baht tourism tax in the first quarter next year despite calls from the private sector to delay the scheme due to ongoing flooding, with officials citing an online public hearing in which 80.5% supported the collection, which is expected to generate 8 billion baht annually.
Thailand, one of the world's most visited tourist destinations, is preparing to implement a new tax on foreign tourists. The plan, scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of 2027, envisages charging tourists 450 baht (approximately 656.94 TL).
