Sun will require HC nod for Semaglutide tablet launch
The Delhi High Court has directed Sun Pharma Laboratories to seek its approval before launching semaglutide tablets, following Novo Nordisks patent infringement plea. The court also sought Sun Pharmas response to Novo Nordisks claim of patent protection for the tablet formulation.
The first weight loss tablet is approved in the EU: "Wegovy. Like the syringe of the same name, the medicine contains semaglutide, which reduces the feeling of hunger. For whom the tablet is recommended – and which side effects can occur.
The drug semaglutide will soon be available as an oral medication – previously it had to be injected. Millions of overweight people could benefit – but will health insurance cover it?
