At around 4:20 p.m. on the 16th, a 119 emergency call was made by an employee of a nearby elderly care facility reporting that "there is a fire in a field" in Hirara Oura, Miyakojima City. (Photo: Fire truck) According to the Miyakojima Police Station, the fire was extinguished about 45 minutes later. Approximately 4,000 square meters of sugarcane field burned, and the body of an unidentified man was found in the ruins.
