A study shows that many apartment buildings could switch to heat pumps without major conversions. That's good for wallets: where heating is already going on, households pay significantly less.
An evaluation of Techem shows a great potential for heat pumps in the multi-family housing stock. Around 40 percent of the heating systems examined could therefore be operated without heat exchanger exchange at low system temperatures; with adjustments, the proportion could rise to up to 90 percent. According to the energy service provider, photovoltaics and smart meters also play an important role in the decarbonisation of the buildings.
