Students, teachers, parents and labor unions joined demonstrations across France Tuesday, as protesters clashed with police and hundreds of schools were closed or blockaded. NBC News’ Richard Engel reports from Paris.
This Tuesday, October 6, thousands of students went out again across France to demand better teaching conditions. Between 256 thousand protesters, according to the government, and 450,000, according to the organizers, participated in a new protest campaign that has already led to the arrest of more than 6,000 people, most of them minors.
Tens of thousands are expected to take part in a demonstration in Paris.
