Nagpur Student Allotted NEET Exam Centre in Abu Dhabi by NTA a Day Before NEET Re-Examination
The agency called it a technical glitch and said it will issue a revised admit card with Nagpur as the centre.
The National Testing Agency erroneously assigned a Nagpur student, Abdullah Mohammad Talib, an examination center in Abu Dhabi for the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam, despite his preference for local centers in Maharashtra.
Abdullah's family faced distress over the "allotment error," as the student lacked travel documents for international transit; this incident follows heightened scrutiny regarding the NTA's conduct following the earlier paper leak controversy.
Dr. Anees Ahmed intervened by contacting the NTA helpline for immediate resolution; officials promised a revised admit card assigning a Nagpur center would be issued by 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Acknowledging a technical glitch, the NTA assured the family the grievance would be addressed and Abdullah would receive a corrected admit card. He is now expected to take the re-examination in Nagpur on Sunday without disruption.
Ahead of the June 21 re-examination, authorities conducted nationwide mock drills and the Central government banned Telegram to curb cheating. The NTA urged candidates to report any admit card discrepancies immediately.
