Canada, France Agree to Closer Ties in Defense, Economy

In the face of Donald Trump's repeated ambitions over North America, the French President and the Canadian Prime Minister reaffirmed the independence "of the two great nations" at the end of a working lunch. Also on the menu: closer ties, artificial intelligence and fuel.
"The time has come to strengthen our ties between Canada and France, between Canada and the European Union," Macron said.
With a view to strengthening cooperation in the energy sector, Macron suggested increasing exports of Canadian natural gas to Europe.
