18-Year-Old Dies Days After Mass Shooting at Oklahoma Lake
Edmond police said at least 23 people were wounded as investigators continued to search for a suspect after the party shooting.
On Wednesday, an 18-year-old victim died two days after the mass shooting at Arcadia Lake in Edmond, Oklahoma, which left 23 people with firearm-related wounds.
A fight at an Arcadia Lake party on Sunday night prompted the mass shooting, with The Edmond Police Department estimating more than 100 people were present before violence erupted.
The Edmond Police Department confirmed 23 people sustained "firearm-related injuries," explaining that some victims were grazed or hit by shrapnel while others suffered direct gunshot wounds.
ShaRhonda Smith, the 18-year-old's aunt, told KOCO that her niece was a dedicated high school senior, saying she was "looking forward to graduation" before the tragedy.
No suspect is currently in custody, and The Edmond Police Department stated that revealing investigative details could compromise the case's integrity and public safety assessment.
