US Futures Mixed Ahead of August Jobs Report Many Expect Will Show a Rebound in Hiring
Economists expect 53,000 jobs added and a 4.1% unemployment rate, while traders also watched sharp after-hours moves in earnings reports.
On Friday, U.S. stock futures remained mixed as traders awaited the August payrolls report, a key indicator for potential Federal Reserve interest rate adjustments.
Economists polled by Dow Jones expect 53,000 nonfarm payrolls were added last month, with an expected unemployment rate of 4.1% following a 23,000-job loss in July.
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said he would be "inclined" to support holding rates at their current target range of 3.5% to 3.75% at the central bank's Sept. 15-16 meeting.
Lululemon Athletica slid more than 20% on a glum forecast, while Docusign jumped more than 4% after beating second-quarter earnings expectations.
