One recently proposed solution to the parking issue in Boca Grande is to create extra parking spaces in the Gasparilla Island State Park, either near the Range Light, or in other undeveloped areas. Currently, the park has about 50 spaces at Sandspur and the Range Light, 36 at Sea Grape, 25 at the seawall, 120 at the Dunes area and about 80 at the Boca Grande Lighthouse. The total is over 300.
