Small Alligator, 94 Pounds of Fentanyl Seized From Downtown Los Angeles Apartment, Prosecutors Say
Prosecutors say the apartment held commercial quantities of fentanyl, cocaine and heroin, along with guns, processing equipment and a small alligator.

- FBI Special Agent Brent James traced Angelito to Unit 4513 after surveillance of an L.A.-based trafficking organization, following an undercover operation where a confidential source paid $125,000 for 500,000 M30 fentanyl pills from alleged drug trafficker Anthony Rea.
- Beyond the fentanyl, agents discovered 15.9 pounds of cocaine, 2.2 pounds of heroin, and laboratory equipment including beakers, mixers, stirrers, torches, and a hydraulic press; a K-9 handler administered Narcan to revive a police dog disoriented by fentanyl exposure.
- Both defendants appeared in United States District Court on Monday, Sept. 14, where Magistrate Judge Karen L. Stevenson detained Angelito pending trial and released Gonzalez on $15,000 bond; prosecutors said conviction carries a statutory maximum penalty of life in federal prison.
- Angelito's arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 2 with Gonzalez appearing one week later, as neither has entered a plea; Assistant United States Attorney Lloyd Masson of the General Crimes Section is prosecuting the case.
