Starkey Hearing Foundation Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of Institute, Campus Expansion, and New Graduates in Zambia

Last week in Lusaka, the Starkey Hearing Foundation marked the tenth anniversary of the Starkey Hearing Institute and honored 24 new graduates after fitting nearly 300 people.
With more than 430 million people experiencing disabling hearing loss worldwide, a shortage of trained hearing professionals remains the principal barrier the Foundation addresses through community-led training.
Since opening in 2015, the Starkey Hearing Institute trained 147 hearing healthcare professionals from 19 African nations and inspired new Institutes in the Philippines and El Salvador.
The campus opened an expanded on-campus dormitory that will nearly double student capacity, and graduates return equipped to deliver high-quality hearing services to tens of thousands annually.
Richard S. Brown, president and board chair of Starkey Hearing Foundation, said `This milestone celebration, shared with our graduates, alumni, and devoted supporters, is our mission in action as we continue to actively provide care`.
