Madrid. Tens of thousands of people took to the streets of 50 cities of Spain yesterday to demand solutions to the serious housing crisis and among their demands stood out four: the call for a general strike by the majority unions, the reduction of 50 percent of housing income, the expropriation of properties to vulture funds and the urgent approval of indefinite contracts in rent.
Protests against the housing crisis in Spain have spread across the country. In the capital, Madrid, where approximately 70,000 people participated in demonstrations, police intervened when a far-right group attempted to approach the protesters. Three people were detained, while in Valencia, police used rubber bullets and tear gas during the protests.
