Motorists and motorcyclists from South Holland will have to pay a few euros more in road tax again next year. For a compact city car, the annual amount increases by just over 2 euros, for a mid-range car by more than 6 euros, and those who have an SUV pay almost 11 euros more. South Holland expects to receive around 510 million euros in 2027 via the surcharges, the part of the vehicle tax that goes to the province.
If it is up to the Provincial Executive, last year's increase in motor vehicle tax in South Holland will be reversed. This is stated in the budget for the coming year. According to Deputy Robert Tieman (BBB, Finance), 'a solid foundation' is being laid for the new provincial government after next year's elections.
