South Africa wins toss and elects to field in ODI as Australia welcomes back Cummins
On Wednesday in Potchefstroom, South Africa won the toss against Australia and elected to field first in the third and final one-day international.
South Africa leads the three-match series 2-0 after making five changes, resting captain Temba Bavuma and David Miller while recalling Tony de Zorzi and Ryan Rickelton.
Australia made three changes, welcoming back Pat Cummins for his first match in nearly two years, alongside Mitchell Starc and Ollie Peake, while Mitchell Marsh retained the captaincy.
A wet outfield delayed the start of the day-night game by half an hour, as Australia aims to bounce back from a 32-run loss on Sunday.
Although Cummins remains the official skipper for next year's World Cup, Marsh has kept the captaincy for this match, marking only Cummins' third ODI since 2023.
