The Taliban regime in Afghanistan is escalating arrests and psychological violence against women, even recruiting female morality police to enforce strict Sharia dress codes. Recent incidents in Kabul and Herat include the forcible abduction of women and girls, while restrictions are expanding to education, employment and public life, with the UN describing the situation as a “human rights graveyard.”
Local sources in Kabul say that Taliban officers have arrested about 16 women from the center of the city.
