Horizon Hunters Gathering Is Holding Another Playtest on May 22
The second closed test adds two new Hunters, a new region and higher-difficulty modes as Sony gathers feedback before launch.
- Sony will hold a closed playtest for Horizon Hunters Gathering from May 22 to May 25, with registration currently open via the PlayStation Beta Program for both PlayStation 5 and PC.
- Developed by Guerrilla, this Monster Hunter-style co-op title features tactical combat that Game Director Arjan Bak described as "building on the tactical precision of the Horizon games while embracing the dynamics of team play."
- Testers can explore the new region Breakers' Bounty and multi-stage Cauldron Descent trial, alongside new hunters Ensa, a charismatic smuggler, and Shadow, a covert operative.
- Hunter NPCs Rem, Sun, or Axle are available to support players in Solo Mode during Episode or Machine Incursion gameplay, providing battle assists or filling empty team slots.
- Training Modules have been added to improve onboarding as the team continues optimization, though Horizon Hunters Gathering lacks an official release date yet.
