- Armed robbers invaded the six-flat apartment complex in Katampe, moving from flat to flat and reportedly numbering up to fifteen, while Somtochukwu Maduagwu tried to escape by jumping and sustained fatal injuries.
- Despite alerts, police in Abuja arrived minutes after Somtochukwu Maduagwu fell alive and she was rushed to Maitama District Hospital where relatives say delayed treatment contributed to her death.
- Ordering a manhunt, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President, also vowed to intensify law enforcement while Ajao Adewale, Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory , launched a discreet probe deploying intelligence assets.
