- The district received a deluge of harassing calls, voicemails and social posts aimed at district workers and students, and some school phone lines and the district website were shut while local law enforcement investigated with additional police officers stationed at school buildings.
- Students asked if their immigrant parents are safe, worrying school leaders, while staff and administrators said they are overwhelmed and under vicious attack, and Chavarria expressed sorrow for students.
- The district hosted a community event with catered Somali food and plans to continue celebrating diversity, while Abigail Jackson, White House spokesperson, called the harassment `the actions of individuals who have nothing to do with` Trump.

Employees of the school in Vermont had to make racist calls and threats about themselves. The calls were so overwhelming that the school even turned off the telephones. Many who were outraged had seen only half the truth.
