Social Circle council lifts moratorium on new data center requests

The Social Circle City Council on Tuesday ended a moratorium on applications for data centers that had been instituted five months ago as the city was facing a deluge of applications for zoning changes, annexation requests and special-use permits for the massive facilities – often covering 1 million square feet or more -- that store, process and distribute huge quantities of digital data.
