Trepy Was Discharged From Hospital Today: Cagliari Statement
The 20-year-old French forward improved after respiratory complications and mechanical ventilation, Cagliari said.
- On Friday, Cagliari's French forward Yael Trepy was discharged from Sassari University Hospital, with the club sharing an image of the 20-year-old player alongside his medical team.
- Trepy was hospitalized after a near-drowning incident on August 16 in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, requiring initial admission to the Emergency-Urgency Intensive Care Unit at Santissima Annunziata Hospital.
- Once stable, Trepy transferred from Intensive Care to the Clinical and Interventional Pulmonology department on Viale San Pietro, where Professor Pietro Pirina said, "The tests carried out during his stay showed an improving picture and made it possible to plan the discharge with confidence."
- Sassari University Hospital general director Serafinangelo Ponti said, "Yael's discharge is news that makes us particularly happy," describing it as a concluding moment involving many professionals working together.
- Addressing recent miracle claims, Ponti continued, "we prefer to speak of the work of a system that functioned," while hospital staff sent Trepy their best wishes for a full return to his sporting career.
