The district administration is conducting rescue operations to evacuate trekkers and mountaineers stranded by snowfall. A total of 136 individuals are currently in high-altitude areas requiring assistance. Most stranded tourists have been safely brought back with help from Gangotri National Park staff. Joint rescue teams are working together to move remaining trekkers and porters to safety.

Harsil: A large number of trekkers has to be air-lifted to safety after getting stranded in the snow in Uttarkashi. According to officials, 29 trekkers, stranded at Auden's Col after heavy snowfall, were safely evacuated by a helicopter on Monday.
