Three Smokey Bones Restaurants Close in Pittsburgh Area
The chain’s website lists only 20 locations, and all are marked closed after months of cuts tied to a Chapter 11 filing.
- Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill closed all locations this week, with the chain's online business hours marked as "CLOSED" every day of the week across 20 remaining sites.
- FAT Brands and its affiliate Twin Hospitality Group Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Texas.
- Employees at remaining Western Pennsylvania locations in Hempfield Township, Cranberry Township, and The Village at Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer Township were notified of the closures on Tuesday with little advance warning.
- Twin Hospitality previously announced the closure of around 15 underperforming Smokey Bones locations in September 2025, continuing a downsizing trend before the bankruptcy filing.
- The company said in January that restaurants would "remain open and operating as usual" during the filing process, a projection contradicted by the current total shutdown of all locations.
