SMH warns public of ongoing phone scam

Stephens Memorial Hospital is urging residents to stay vigilant following reports of a phone scam that falsely uses the hospital’s number to solicit sensitive personal information. According to a news release sent out by the hospital Tuesday, Sept. 16, scammers were using a tactic known as “caller ID spoofing” to make it appear as though calls were coming from the hospital.
