Sky customers to receive refunds after price rise notification 'error'
Sky said an error left customers uninformed about a price rise, and it will credit accounts for extra charges under consumer law.
Sky is issuing refunds to subscribers after admitting it was "unable" to notify them of a price increase in advance, citing an internal "error."
These price adjustments took effect on April 1, 2026, including a £3 per month increase on Sky Ultimate and Sky Full Fibre 500 broadband services.
Under the Consumer Rights Act, companies must provide advance notice of price increases and grant customers the right to refuse changes or cancel contracts.
Customers can cancel without early termination charges within 31 days of receiving the letter, or "Unless you tell us otherwise, your Sky subscription will continue as normal."
Sky will credit accounts for overcharges, lowering upcoming bills, while offering "Apologies for any inconvenience caused" to affected subscribers.
