Sinner cruises past Fils to reach Madrid Open final
On Friday, World number one Jannik Sinner reached the Madrid Open final, defeating Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4 to keep alive his bid for a record fifth successive ATP Masters 1000 title.
Sinner, 24, holds a 22-match winning streak following recent titles at Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo, with chief rival Carlos Alcaraz out injured at the Caja Magica.
Dominating the baseline, Sinner closed the match in 85 minutes, telling reporters, "Very happy about the general performance today" while maintaining aggressive play against The Frenchman.
Sunday's final awaits Sinner, who will face either second seed Alexander Zverev or promising Belgian Alexander Blockx as he chases his second clay-court title of the season.
Although admitting to physical tiredness from his busy schedule, Sinner remains focused on his record-chasing campaign, stating, "Of course on Sunday we'll try to do even better.
