Singer Zubeen Garg died after swimming in Singapore, not scuba diving: Report
Four arrests made in connection with the drowning of singer Zubeen Garg, with charges including culpable homicide and criminal conspiracy, Assam Police said.
- On September 19, singer-musician Zubeen Garg drowned while swimming off St John's Island and was pulled out unconscious before being rushed to Singapore General Hospital.
- Garg was in Singapore for diplomatic and festival events, attending the North East India Festival and on an unnamed yacht with more than a dozen people on September 19.
- Video footage shows him jumping into the water wearing a life vest, later removing it, while Amritprava Mahanta recorded and Shekhar Jyoti Goswami swam nearby.
- So far, investigators say four arrests have been made in the case, with Siddhartha Sharma, Garg's manager, and Shyamkanu Mahanta, festival organiser, remanded to 14 days' police custody.
- The Singapore Police Force sent the autopsy report to the Indian High Commission, while the Special Investigation Team awaits approval to travel to Singapore to collect evidence.
