A cable break at Katowice station, which occurred around 1:00 a.m., caused disruptions to Koleje Śląskie's service. "Unfortunately, we will continue to experience delays for trains, including those of other carriers, for the next several hours," carrier spokesman Bartłomiej Wnuk told Polsat News. He added that the outage was one of the largest.
Train traffic between Katowice and Tychy in Silesia has been suspended. Last night, a catenary cable snapped above a junction in Katowice, according to RMF FM reporter Anna Kropaczek. All trains from the south of the province will terminate in Tychy or Katowice Ligota.
