With iOS version 8.30, Signal has introduced local backups for iPhone and iPad. Users can store an encrypted copy of their signal data directly on the device and restore it if needed. Local backups use the cross-platform backup format of Signal and encrypt the data to the end. Unlike cloud backups, the app sets the backup as a backup.
