A police officer from Bolesławiec was shot in the head during an intervention at a property. Investigators believe the shots were fired by a 33-year-old man, who was arrested. The injured officer was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
The police were conducting operational activities against a person suspected of theft of property when an exchange of fire occurred between the officers and the detained man.
