STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Citing an uptick in shootings in the 121st Precinct, City Councilmember Kamillah Hanks called for an increase in NYPD officers assigned to Staten Island.“What has to happen before the NYPD sends more officers?” said Hanks, a Democrat representing the North Shore, at a meeting of the City Council’s Committee on Public Safety on Sept. 16.
