Shelley Fabares, 'Johnny Angel' Singer and Actor in ‘The Donna Reed Show’ and ‘Coach,’ Dies at 82

On Saturday, actress Shelley Fabares died in Los Angeles at age 82, her family announced. She was known for iconic television roles spanning decades.
Born in Santa Monica in 1944, Fabares began acting at age 3 and became a household name playing teenager Mary Stone on 'The Donna Reed Show' from 1958 to 1963.
Fabares achieved musical success with her 1962 number-one hit 'Johnny Angel' and co-starred with Elvis Presley in three films: 'Girl Happy', 'Spinout', and 'Clambake'.
She married 'MASH' actor Mike Farrell in 1984 and earned two Primetime Emmy nominations starring as Christine Armstrong on the ABC sitcom 'Coach' during its nine-season run.
Her family described Fabares as "a source of love, strength, laughter and comfort," requesting privacy while grieving and expressing gratitude for the joy she brought to others.
