President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo attributed to “foreign interference” the crisis of violence that has plagued the state of Sinaloa for more than two years, resulting from the alleged intervention of the United States for the irregular abduction of cape Ismael El Mayo Zambada, in July 2024.

The president pointed out that the wave of violence in Sinaloa for the past two years was precipitated by the U.S. “extraction” of drug kingpin Ismael Zambada that led to an internecine war among Sinaloa Cartel factions.
"Mexico is free, independent and sovereign. It took us a long time to get to this moment to go look for an emperor to rule our country again," Sheinbaum said and stressed that "interference generates violence" and "development cooperation generates peace."
Claudia Sheinbaum holds sovereignty for Sinaloa and all of Mexico; she is committed to development to foster peace.
The state, where homicides have been taking place, has been engaged in a civil war between criminals for two years due to the kidnapping of ‘El Mayo’ Zambada to hand him over to the United States.
