Allen Gives Browns up-Close View of Franchise QB as Watson-Sanders Battle Nears Finish
Todd Monken has not named a starter as Sanders and Watson split first-team work, and Sanders may get one last preseason chance to impress.
On Thursday, the Cleveland Browns split first-team reps between quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson during a joint practice with the Buffalo Bills in Berea, Ohio.
First-Year head coach Todd Monken has not named a starter, continuing to evaluate both quarterbacks throughout training camp before making a final decision.
During the session, Watson completed a 30-yard pass to KC Concepcion Jr., while Sanders connected with Malachi Corley as Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen observed the competition.
Saturday's exhibition against the Buffalo Bills will see Monken start Sanders, while Watson is scheduled to play during the third quarter to further evaluate both.
Watson seeks to reclaim his career after injury-riddled seasons, while Sanders aims to prove he can lead the offense in the final preseason auditions.
