EastEnders Star Shane Richie Banned From Driving for Six Months After Speeding
Richie admitted a separate speeding offence and was fined £500, while he awaits a 2027 trial over a drink-driving allegation he denies.
EastEnders star Shane Richie was banned from driving for six months after admitting to a speeding offense, with his case handled privately through the Single Justice Procedure on September 23.
Magistrate Sheila Hewitt fined Richie £500 at Guildford Magistrates' Court and ordered him to pay £120 in costs and a £200 victim surcharge.
Facing a separate charge, the actor—real name Shane Roche—is currently awaiting trial for an alleged drink-driving incident involving a Hyundai in Church Langley Way, Harlow, Essex, on July 29.
The actor allegedly provided a breath sample of 65 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 micrograms, though Richie denies the allegation.
Scheduled for November 17, 2027, the trial at Colchester Magistrates' Court will address the drink-driving allegation against the actor, best known for playing Alfie Moon in EastEnders.
