Thailand's cabinet on Sunday approved Sept. 28 and 29 as special holidays for civil servants in Bangkok and three surrounding provinces due to heavy rainfall, a move that could affect the timing of a court ruling on electoral ballots used in February's election.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul revealed that the Cabinet has approved special holidays on September 28-29 in four provinces, but the Cabinet will still work and will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday. A new project is underway to address recurring flooding in Chai Nat, Pa Sak, and the Gulf of Thailand.
The Monday and Tuesday holiday policy is being implemented in the four main affected provinces, namely Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan.
