Several Dead in Dutch Coach Crash in Switzerland
A tourist coach overturned in eastern Switzerland on Thursday, leaving several people dead and others injured between the communes of Susch and Zernez in the canton of Graubuenden.
The crash site lies near Zernez, the entry point for the Swiss national park, an Alpine reserve stretching more than 100 square kilometres across the mountainous Engadine valley.
Swiss press identified the bus as belonging to Dutch Oad, a tour operator offering trips across Europe. Footage showed emergency responders and helicopters surrounding the overturned vehicle.
Emergency teams were dispatched to the site in Graubuenden. The cantonal police said on X, "without giving details on the circumstances of the accident or the victims."
Rescue workers remain at the scene in Graubuenden as investigations into the cause of the accident continue. The Thursday incident has prompted a significant emergency response in the region.
