The Bolivian Plurinational Legislative Assembly (PLA) agreed to empower the House to suspend directly the head of the Public Prosecutor's Office when he is charged with a serious crime, as was the case with the current incumbent Roger Mariaca.
The president of the South American country, Rodrigo Paz, enacted legislation amending article 25 of Law 260, which allows the Plurinational Legislative Assembly to suspend the head of the Attorney General's Office.

In ordinary session, the Chamber of Deputies approved this Friday night, in great detail, the bill amending Law 260, the Organic Law of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which establishes the mechanisms for the suspension of the Attorney General, Roger Mariaca, and the appointment of an interim.
