Security beefed up in Srinagar ahead of Independence Day celebrations
Delhi Police installed more than 1,000 AI-enabled CCTV cameras and deployed snipers, QRTs and bomb squads to counter threat inputs and crowd risks.
Ahead of Independence Day celebrations, Delhi Police has intensified Security across New Delhi citing potential threats from Pakistan-based terrorist groups and Khalistani elements, officials said.
Intelligence inputs regarding Pakistan-based terrorist organizations prompted the measures; authorities posted images of 19 wanted terrorists linked to Indian Mujahideen, Al-Qaeda, and Khalistani groups throughout the city.
To strengthen Surveillance, more than 1,000 CCTV cameras equipped with Artificial Intelligence have been installed at the Red Fort and other strategic locations to facilitate real-time monitoring.
Security plans include multi-layered Entry access control and deployment of Quick Reaction Teams , with Snipers stationed at strategic vantage points and specialized SWAT commandos positioned for comprehensive protection.
Police have tightened Security across New Delhi at vital installations, government buildings, markets, and Metro stations, while intensifying Surveillance on hotels and crowded public places.
