The government fears, in the midst of a presidential campaign, a coalition of left-right oppositions that does not allow the adoption of a budget.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu wrote to parliamentarians asking them to vote on the state's 2027 budget in the interest of France, a few months before the presidential election.
Sébastien Lecornu warned parliamentarians against the temptation to wait for the presidential to adopt a budget in 2027, which would be "the choice of disorder".
"Choose to wait for the presidential election to adopt a budget (...) is to choose disorder," wrote the Prime Minister in a letter addressed to MPs and senators.
