Reports: Former Bengals Running Back Joe Mixon Signing with Seahawks
Seattle worked out the 30-year-old former Pro Bowler earlier Monday and added him after injuries thinned the backfield, reporters said.
On Monday, the Seattle Seahawks signed veteran running back Joe Mixon to the practice squad after a workout, with head coach Mike Macdonald confirming the team is "going through the process" of adding the two-time Pro Bowler.
Seattle pursued Mixon after placing rookie running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve Saturday with a chest injury, while Zach Charbonnet remains sidelined recovering from a torn ACL.
Mixon brings significant experience, having recorded 7,428 rushing yards and 60 touchdowns over an eight-year career, including 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Houston Texans in 2024.
Running backs Emanuel Wilson and George Holani currently anchor Seattle's depth chart, with Wilson scoring twice and rushing for 81 yards in Sunday's 30-23 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
After missing the entire 2025 campaign with a foot injury, Mixon enters the 2026 season seeking a return; Macdonald stated, "This is just what happens in football. Unfortunately, injuries happen.
