Local fire forester receives promotion within Weiser State Forest

ARISTES – He’s responded to and investigated many wildfires in our area, securing arrests in numerous cases including a major fire near Frackville in 2023. Now, he is the Assistant District Forester for the entire Weiser State Forest region. Jake Novitsky’s promotion was announced this week by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
